Well I just found my new favorite way to start the weekend…YogaMosa. This past Saturday at 10AM I had the pleasure of taking Carly’s Yoga class at the new Bluewater Organic Distilling at the Port of Everett. Following an intense combo of zen + sweat, I was granted a fancy cocktail created by Bluewater owner, John Lundin. So yes, Yoga + Cocktail is an obsession I could get used to…
First of all, I’m going to be honest, Carly makes you work for it. Her flow yoga class is full of strong sun salutations and several planks. You don’t sweat in yoga? You do in her class! The name YogaMosa sounds so sweet…well you are going to earn that cocktail! Which is how it should be, right? I LOVE leaving a strong yoga class. ♥
And then there’s the Savasana…Carly’s practice includes a long final relaxation, which I needed oh so badly. I honestly never really understood (or appreciated) Savasana until I had kids. I always rushed out of this pose, ready to get on with my day. But now I treasure these few peaceful moments and can really dive deep into relax mode. So thank you, Carly, for this I was grateful.
So now that I’ve ‘earned it,’ I was given the ‘Mosa’ which featured Halcyon Organic Gin by Bluewater, along with fresh Peach Puree, topped off with Prosecco, of course. Ahhhhh…..Namaste :)
Bluewater Organic Distilling is incredibly unique as they create small-batch spirits with the emphasis on sustainability. Fresh and local is their mantra, evident not only in their cocktails, but also in their savory bites menu. This is exactly what Everett needs. It’s a breath of fresh air, right next to the infamous Scuttlebutte Brewery in the Waterfront Center. Bluewater is a self-proclaimed ‘Destination Distillery’ which makes complete sense, as you could easily spend the day enjoying the waterfront views.
YogaMosa is available on select Saturdays from 10-11:30 AM for $30 (which includes specialty cocktail). It is the perfect way to treat yourself, bring your girlfriends…or even celebrate a birthday (hint: I want to do THIS on mine!). You can also check out Carly’s other range of classes via her website Catalyst Yoga NW. We actually connected via Vertical Arts NW, where she hosts workshops. I plan to attend her next one, so I’ll keep you in the loop, as well. :)
