Yoga & Donuts…This was my daughter’s 5th Birthday Theme…let me tell you how it all began…
This was a summer of Yoga for my littles. They discovered their own versions of happy baby, downward facing dog and plank, feeling prideful in their new talents. Of course this made my heart leap out of my chest. We started with a few poses together…
And when I realized they truly loved getting their zen on, I put them both in Kid’s Yoga at Spark Hot Yoga in Snohomish! My friend, Janette, is the owner of the studio and led their practice outside on the grass. I, of course, parked nearby and watched my little yogis play with postures and revel in their new practice.Janette is a total mini-yogi whisperer. My girls absolutely love her – and kid’s know when someone is the real deal. ♥
One of my fave moments Janette shared with me: She asked my girls what you say when you are done with your practice – and my 4 year-old replied, “BEYONCE.” I mean really, this is what we should all end yoga class with, right?
I suggested a Yoga & Donuts birthday party to Addy (who was turning 5 in August) and she loved the idea. Obviously yoga because we love it and donuts because it just seemed like a good idea. :)
A few days before the party we were doing our usual Target run and came across these yoga pants with donuts on them (made by Wasabi & Ginger) for $12.99! Could not be any more perfect.
Then party day arrived and Janette literally handled EVERYTHING! Other than the yoga donut pants, a stack of gold polka dot napkins and two dozen donuts, my girls and I just had to show up! Best.Party.Ever.
We had an amazing turnout for Yoga & Donuts – 11 kids (ages 2 – 8, girls and boys)! Once the kiddos grabbed their personalized water bottles (Thank you, Janette!!), they headed to their mats…
Janette even gave Addy a ‘special’ Birthday Girl cup…
AND set up a coloring station (with balloons) for the party guests to color a Zebra picture for Addy (her favorite animal)! ♥
To make it easier for the kid’s to listen, my friends (the moms) and I headed to coffee for an hour (um, have I mentioned this is the Best.Party.Ever?!). When we returned, the littles were finishing up their practice with a story (my 2 year old was snuggled on Janette’s lap (love!)…
Then, of course, the little yogis had to show us their new skills…

This exercise was so cool – she was teaching them how to ‘breathe’ properly using a straw and puffball…#Genius
Then of course we had to sing to the Birthday Girl. ♥
Funny story about these donuts – since it was Blue Friday (12th Man is a BIG deal here!), these were the only donuts we could find…but luckily Addy is an avid Seahawks fan, she couldn’t have been happier! #ThankGoodness
The Yoga & Donuts party went off without a hitch and I was BEYOND impressed that 11 kids were soooooo calm and cool. They completely rocked yoga and continued being awesome during donuts (which was a BIG hit, FYI).
I am so THANKFUL for Janette and Spark Hot Yoga for providing not only the inspiration for Yoga & Donuts but for also running the entire party! It was incredibly affordable and I am crossing my fingers Addy (& Mila!) will allow this to be their party theme EVERY YEAR!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Spark Hot Yoga for your next party – Kid’s, Teens, Bachelorette, Birthday, etc.! You can contact them HERE for more info.
*I also have REALLY exciting news for my ‘North-End’ friends → Spark Hot Yoga is opening up a new studio in Marysville! I will keep you posted to the launch date – it’s looking like October, as of now! (Insert Happy Dance!!) :)
For those of you that don’t live in the area, ask your fave yoga studio about hosting a party! Trust me – it’s one for the books!
Do you have a favorite birthday theme?
