Probably one of the most unique brands I’ve worked with thus far, FIVE12 is not your typical athletic line. For one, their performance collection is constructed exclusively of S. cafe fabrics, which is a technical composite from coffee grounds. Yep, you read that right…coffee grounds.
The fiber is used to make yarn, and then into knitted or woven fabric. S.cafe’ utilizes coffee grounds’ natural ability to absorb odors for a comfortable experience in high aerobic times. It also provides UV protection and has fast drying properties.
Reducing our carbon footprint and making great performing apparel is our primary focus. S.cafe’ grounds are collected from local coffee shops.
Instead of the local landfill , the used grounds are turned into performance fabrics.

So I’m sure you’re thinking…but what does it feel like? I can’t even put into words how amazing the fabric is. I’m wearing the Luna Thermal Hoody which is a great mid-layer (perfect for Fall & Winter). It has just the right amount of compression (for a long run…or Sunday brunch…because I wear workout gear most days of the week).

They don’t slip (which is my #1 pet peeve with running tights) and they fit great – without pinching, squeezing or any other nonsense I don’t have time for. I want pants I can throw on and go run…and these work like a dream.
