This weekend I spoiled myself with a ‘Me’ day. I arranged to have the entire day to myself – I left my dirty floors, and piling laundry at home. I left my sweet (yet very busy) girls with my very understanding husband at home. I left my stacking inbox at home. I was free…the entire day was all mine. ♥
Why do you need a ‘ME’ day? We all need to recharge our batteries and sometimes a little self-care can go a long way. Actually it will always go a long way. Take a few hours (or an entire day preferably) to do exactly what you want – not running errands, not worrying about who’s hungry (besides yourself), or what chores you need to accomplish. For me, I often utilize Saturday or Sunday to deep clean the house. I LOVE a clean, organized home – but doing the dirty work is not actually my favorite part. So on Saturday instead of grabbing my Magic Eraser – because my 3 yr old used permanent marker ALL OVER her white door and trim (case in point why I need a ‘ME’ day) – I decided to leave it for Sunday. And the result? I was like a brand new person come Sunday morning. I was grateful to have my time away, and even more grateful to come home to the family that loved me (and survived without me for an entire day). I was actually super productive yesterday and cleaned my house because I wanted to – I was recharged, refreshed and happy. And happy is everything. It makes the scrubbing much easier to handle. :)
So what did I do on my ‘ME’ day? Glad you asked :)
Let’s first talk about the outfit – it just had the right vibe for the day, don’t you think?
The tee is from Maple and Moss Boutique (Snohomish, WA). The rose-colored jewels are Stella and Dot. ♥
So now that I’m dressed and ready to enjoy…
I started with a little Starbucks date with one of my most inspiring girlfriends. You know those people that feed your soul and just give you absolute pure joy – she’s one of them. We could seriously talk forever…but we only had 2 hours (which flew by!).
I then headed to Bellevue (WA) for a luxurious facial at the Neiman Marcus Spa in honor of their Beauty Event. I just discovered this little gem and let me tell you – OBSESSED. Lisa Vo was my esthetician and she worked her magic in the most glorious way. (Thank you!)
Post-Spa I headed to the Giorgio Armani Beauty Department for a makeup consult with Mimi Banasik – A Makeup Artist & Beauty Blogger. This girl is a master with the beauty brushes and even convinced me to try a hot pink lip…
Also, I am head over heels for the Giorgio Armani Maestro Concealer – Mimi showed me how to use it for literally everything – coverage, eyes, lips, etc. Mind blown.
I even scored the Giorgio Armani Gift (with purchase)!
And the Neiman Marcus Beauty Gift…
At this point, I am swimming in goodies and feeling very spoiled. ‘ME’ day on point. ♥
If you’re in the market for a new look or have a special event coming up, Mimi’s your girl! Check out her Facebook page where she also shares video tutorials!
And to sweeten my day I used the gift card I won at the Neiman Marcus Spring Trend Event, treating myself to a new pair of Tory Burch Sunnies. I am cat eye ready for Spring.
And for the day’s finale, I shared some Malbec with my dear friend Maja Arnold. Her beautiful, creative spirit provides the best company. Maja is an incredible artist and founder of Maja Arnold Designs, a luxury monogrammed jewelry collection. Spending the evening sharing stories of momhood and the whole work/life/family balance effect, again left me feeling inspired and grateful. There is something about the energy girlfriend’s give one another that is hard to explain but oh so powerful.
Give my girl some love HERE!
And THAT is how you do a ‘ME’ Day! Completely refreshed. Better mom, better wife, better me. ♥
What would you do if you had an entire day to yourself?
