Life can be exhausting. While my amazing husband worked nearly 80 hours last week, I’m running the ship at home – balancing the blog + kids + school + sports…and don’t even get me started on our pup, George. It was time for a break, for all of us. We needed to getaway for the weekend and soak in that good ol’ family soul food.
And so this gorgeous cabin in the woods near Leavenworth, WA became our respite from the busy, always going, aways on, way of life. And we have Glamping Hub to thank for bringing us right here…in this moment.
I discovered Glamping Hub over the summer, and while that seems like the perfect time to escape, I knew a trip before the holidays would be the best for our family, especially to Leavenworth, which happens to be one of the most festive towns in America; visiting the Christmas lights has become an annual tradition.
We knew we wanted to bring our pup so we searched the Glamping With Pets category and found this spacious log house about 30 minutes from town.
The cabin, named ‘Our River Roars,’ which can sleep up to 12 guests, has a rustic ranch style vibe, with sincere attention spent on every single detail.
The wood-carved, rocking saddle barstools were definitely my girls favorite spot in the house.
Second being the custom log bunk beds…
I favored the covered balcony off the master bedroom, overlooking the river-adjacent property.
Along with this spot in front of the wood fire…something I desperately miss on this blustery day back at home.
We really hoped a few snow flurries would come through, but the blue skies and leftover patches of snow served the girls just fine…
We spent the weekend playing checkers, watching movies, exploring the backyard, eating way too many cinnamon rolls (thanks Grandma!) and listening to our children laugh hysterically (best.sound.ever.).
I had the opportunity of partnering with a local photographer, Jennan Oaks, for the trip and we’re so pleased with our family photos! When you’re visiting Eastern Washington, be sure to contact her for a mini session – so great to capture these memories on camera!
I’d also like to mention how we got to the log cabins dublin – we borrowed a 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser!
Our favorite features included 4Wheel Drive (for going over Stevens Pass), 8 passenger seating, heated leather trimmed seats, four-zone automatic climate control and the rear-seat DVD entertainment system.
The Land Cruiser fit our family of 4 perfect, with plenty of room for bags, coolers, etc.
If you’re craving a weekend getaway, I highly recommend Glamping Hub, which offers unique lodging accommodations in over 80 countries worldwide. And for my Washington friends, check out the cabin we stayed at; it starts at $300/night and can easily be split between friends and family (remember it sleeps 12!).
