A few week’s ago we had the opportunity of exploring the kid-friendly side to Woodinville and Redmond during Celebrate Woodinville, an annual festival that kicks off with weekly concerts in July, followed by a full day of activities towards the end of August.
Woodinville is well-known for their wine-centric region, however, something often overlooked is how incredibly family-friendly the city is. Of course you can still enjoy afternoon tastings with your girlfriends or farm-to-table dining with your husband, but there’s another side that is incredibly welcoming to kids of all ages. And I’m here to share a peak at our experience.
We started our weekend off at Celebrate Woodinville in Wilmot Gateway Park.
There were food trucks, bouncy houses, lawn games, music, magic shows, arts and crafts, and booths hosted by local businesses with more swag than these girls knew what to do with (can we talk about these capes…the cutest idea!).
And here’s something unique – the wine, beer and cider garden was family-friendly. Ben and could enjoy a few local grape varieties while the girls worked on projects. #Brilliant
Our family of four spent the entire day together, enjoying the community spirit and basking in our final days of summer.
Once the festival came to a close, we headed to the Seattle Marriott Redmond to continue our staycation experience.
After checking in, our goal was to hit the pool…but first, as always, Mila had to enjoy a few minutes of hotel bed serenity (she’s become a real connoisseur at this point).
Fun Fact: Seattle Redmond Marriott has an outdoor pool! This is rare in the Seattle area so we took full advantage of it.
After swimming we enjoyed dinner at Island Time Eatery, located just down the street, offering Hawaiian cuisine dine in or take out. It’s perfect for kids, as well, offering a la carte items and a chalk wall to keep them busy!
The next morning, we enjoyed a few more snuggles in bed…
Followed by the delicious breakfast buffet at SEAR, the hotel’s signature restaurant.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Seattle Marriott Redmond, disappointed we only had one night. With nearby shopping, activities and endless kid-friendly dining options, we could have easily stayed for a week. Whether you’re looking for a local staycation or wanting to explore the Eastside of the Seattle region, I highly recommend Seattle Marriott Redmond.
Woodinville and Redmond offer a unique community spirit with an urban-rural fusion, providing activities for both kids and parents alike, with a clean, comforting landscape.
Some of you may not know this, but I lived in Redmond a bit during college and always planned on returning. While we have built our life in another city, I will always have a special place in my heart for this area and the opportunity to share it with my girls brings me so much joy!
I hope this has inspired you, to yet again, explore your own backyard and venture to the beautiful cities of Woodinville and Redmond. *You may notice this post looks slightly different than others – it’s not styled, it’s not perfect…it’s our real life, behind the scenes. This is the Smith Family on vacation. ♥
Cheers!
