It’s been over 2 years since I’ve run a half marathon…but I’m feeling ambitious and ready to log the miles again, so I registered for the Super Fast Half! It’s part of the Cascade Super Series which also includes a Boston-Qualifier Marathon!
My girlfriends and I committed to the race less than 2 months ago and, at the time, were only logging 3 miles 2-3x/week. Despite our busy travel calendars, we ramped up during the week, managed to get the training in and now we’re ready – with our last long run being 10 miles.
I provided this quick backstory as a reminder of how powerful a goal can be. And that training (for anything) is possible with the time you have. Yes, I get up at 4:30am most days of the week to run…but it’s better than the alternative of not getting to run.
Okay…so here’s the Cascade Super Series info:

I’d also like to mention my first half-marathon was the Rock ‘n’ Roll series, which had its 10th annual race today in Seattle. It’s on my calendar for next year, but you still have time to register for any of their of locations around the world! AND you can find these Brooks Running Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series shoes at the expos!
