One of the most prestigious personal training studios is located right here in the Northwest – Elite Fitness Training. Known for their intense circuit methods, celebrity clientele, extensive philanthropy and various magazine features, Elite stands out at as a leader in boutique fitness.
I had the opportunity to test out their method with an exclusive workout with Dave Johnson (pictured above, left). The Elite philosophy is known as Circuit Training which includes the following:
- Cardiovascular Endurance
- Muscular Strength and Tone
- Core Endurance
- Flexibility
Before I headed into the workout I knew Dave was serious business, between his celebrity clients and bridal bootcamps, his job was to challenge and make #goals happen. So in I went. Fortunately, my friend Erin joined me in this fitness experiment. Thank goodness for friends that are willing to sweat alongside with you. ♥
The Elite Fitness mindset is to maximize results, not time in the gym – therefore, you will work your a** off when you are there.
Dave had Erin and I start with this combo move – We had stationary bikes that faced one another that were several feet apart. As we pedaled we had to toss the ball back and forth. If one of us dropped the ball, we had to increase resistance. This is a great example of Dave’s style – unique moves that will cause both your body and mind to stay challenged.
Since there were two of us in the training session, Dave had Erin and I work together in a ‘pass the baton’ style format.
Burning abs and shaky thighs…we then headed outside…
After circling the (hilly) block either running or lunging with a weighted bar, we moved onto the STAIRS…
First, let me preface, the Seattle Elite Fitness studio is on Eastlake Ave. Dave took off running and we were told to follow…all the way up to Capitol Hill. The stairs were steep, it was raining and he was timing us. We didn’t make his first goal time, so we did it again. THIS, my friends, was one of the hardest things I have ever done. #ChallengeAccepted
Elite Fitness Training has two studios – Seattle and Bellevue. With awards such as Best Personal Trainers & Best Workout Spot, it is clear the Elite method is highly regarded in the Northwest.
If you need some motivation, are training for a race or have a special event coming up, Elite Fitness will for sure get you in fighting shape – I highly recommend you check them out! → http://elitefitnessnw.com
