A few week’s ago (my mom!) and I attended Nourish – a Women’s Self-Care & Yoga Retreat in the Seattle area. My mom was admitedly nervous to be surrounded by 20-something yogis competing for the strongest chaturanga or worse, wearing nothing but a sports bra and barely-there shorts all weekend. Thankfully, this was not the case – and I’m sharing the reality with you, because if you’ve ever thought of attending a yoga retreat but have these same presumptions, I want to assure you – the guests of the retreat (and I’m going to assume most retreats of similar nature) are made up of real people. We were surrounded by beautiful women of all ages (20’s-60’s), all sizes, with varying yoga experience.
In fact, when we arrived to the retreat at Three Tree Point, we were welcomed with hugs and an immediate sense of calm. We had the entire weekend to rest, rejuvenate and reconnect both with others and ourselves. It was exactly what we needed and what a blessing to spend it with my mom!
The retreat included yoga in a heated room…
