My little Mila turned 5 last week and to celebrate we partnered with one of our favorite local shops, indi chocolate to create a unique Seattle birthday party experience!
Though many people assume we’re a coffee-exclusive city, we actually have a major chocolatier scene and indi is well-known for their bean to bar classes.
So we gathered a group and enjoyed an afternoon at indi chocolate for a ‘youngster’s class,’ which included hot cocoa, toasted marshmallows, a handmade bark tutorial and goodie bag decorating.
The class, led by indi chocolate founder, Erin Andrews, kicked off with a shop tour and sampling of their chocolate lotions (which were the original indi products). I LOVE the Chocolate Mint variety.
Next up was the chocolate bark tutorial which was super-kid friendly!
Erin even walked them through the cacao bean origins (you know I love a good travel segue).
It’s the little things that made this party special…
One of my favorite things about indi is that they’re located in the new Pike Place MarketFront, which has a gorgeous view of both the waterfront and cityscape.
Pretty sure this is evidence of a good time…
indi chocolate is both a shop and cafe, offering handcrafted coffee, single origin drinking chocolate, gifts, body care, and tabletop bean to bar machines.
indi chocolate offers a variety of classes and events starting at age 4 and if you’re feeling inspired at home, check out their exclusive recipes featuring indi products!
I’d love to hear some of your favorite spots, as well, for a Seattle birthday party! Please share in the comments!
Cheers to chocolate-filled parties!
