Galentine’s Day was created in 2010 by Leslie Knopp on NBC’s Park and Recreation…
Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.
I am fully onboard with Galentine’s, but I vote we make it a weekend – a slumber party, if you will. Escape to a cabin, drink wine, cook, watch movies and laugh…
And that’s exactly what we did…
My beautiful sister’s and I headed to Skykomish, WA recently to celebrate…well, time together! Important Note: Galentine’s Day can take place on February 13th OR any other day you like (I vote multiple times per year).
I partnered with Pursuit Concierge, a lifestyle management service, to plan the entire trip. I provided our dates available to travel, as well as, activity preferences (adventure vs. spa, etc.) and they planned everything from accommodations to experience options. I requested a low-key weekend, as one of my sister-in-law’s is nearing the end of her pregnancy (see adorable photo below ♥)…
Pursuit Concierge designed the perfect trip – a cabin in the woods with a hot tub, fire pit, wood stove…and of course Netflix. They also provided everything we needed to relax, restore and pamper – wine, essential oils, and spa goodies – in addition to maps for nearby trails.
Skykomish is a small town just 1.5 hours east of Seattle. It’s known as the gateway to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, with trails for hiking, mountain biking, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling. In the summer, thousands of kayakers and rafters visit Skykomish River for its famous whitewater rapids.
Skykomish is also a great place take photos (a must on any Galentine’s weekend!).
If you’re craving an adventure in the snow, you can take a quick drive (only 15 minutes!) to the top of Steven’s Pass…
Since this was a weekend to unwind, we opted to skip the slopes and enjoy a cozy lunch + hot cocoa in the lodge. :)
But we did manage to play a bit in the snow before heading back to the cabin…
We finished the evening by cooking a Hello Fresh meal together, watching movies and drinking wine. ♥
Nothing compares to spending time with your girls, celebrating your friendship and savoring the good stuff. If you’re interested in planning your own Galentine’s weekend, I highly recommend going through Pursuit Concierge. Based out of Seattle, WA, they’ll find a PNW adventure that fits your schedule and style. You can find out more info HERE!
