I am a firm believer in advocating for your kids, especially when it comes to education. If your child is struggling in an academic and/or social arena, I want you to find solace in this post. There are options outside of the traditional school philosophy that will not only allow your child to meet statewide standards but also find peace. No one deserves to suffer in a setting that doesn’t feel right…especially kids. I had the opportunity of touring the brand new Fusion Academy in the Eastlake neighborhood of Seattle – the 50th campus sharing a very unique (yet supremely successful) method of schooling for grades 6-12.
About Fusion Academy
This private, accredited school offers 1:1 student teacher classrooms along with programs that align with student interests, gifted abilities and future planning.

The Fusion philosophy is “Love, Motivate, Teach” which offers youth a safe place to feel confident in their abilities and find learning support that fits their needs.
Who is Fusion for?
Many of our students feel they don’t ‘fit’ at a traditional school. That sense of not belonging can make school an uninspiring place to be. We serve kids who aren’t flourishing in a conventional environment, and offer them a community where they feel connected, supported and understood. When students experience the Fusion fit, learning starts to happen in a big way!
Every student is different. While it’s impossible to put our students into categories, we generally serve kids with the following backgrounds:
- ADHD
- Learning Differences and Disabilities
- Accelerated/Gifted Learners
- Social Challenges and School Anxiety
- Students with Challenging Schedules
- Transition from Boarding School and Treatment Programs
Fusion offers both academic and emotional support, with 91% of their students feeling as though their teachers listened to them and treated them with respect. These positive relationships develop a greater sense of gratitude, optimism and yearning to learn.
Fusion Academy has the ability to customize learning to fit a child’s needs.
It is not cookie cutter. It’s personal. Helping students build confidence in a safe environment tailored to their abilities, interests and goals empowers them to feel excited about the future. Remember…this is the next generation. They’re leading the way – let’s help them be successful.

If your child is struggling in the traditional academic setting, I urge you to look into the Fusion Academy. With over 50 campuses nationwide, the newest being here in Seattle, there’s hope within reach. Take a deep dive into their website, where you’ll find tuition rates, scholarship details, curriculum options, etc.
I’ll also mention they have part-time programs for students who attend a traditional middle or high school and are just looking for extra support or interested in an endorsement in STEM, Humanities, World Language, among others. And tutoring for all ages is also available.
The Fusion Academy has a unique perspective that fits your unique youth. I hope this post will provide a sigh of relief for your family and please let me know if you have any questions!
