If you’re following me on Snapchat (@obsessedportia)…yes I’m still at the beach, and no I don’t want to leave…like ever. In my normal routine I’m wound pretty tight with errands, chores, chasing kids and I struggle with ‘relaxing’…well at least until super late (when I should be sleeping). So when we visit our beach house on Camano Island, I decompress and it feels so incredibly good. It’s a reminder (that I desperately need) to slowwwww down.
So as my girl’s are making castles and naming seagulls, I have some time to share part 2 of the mother-daughter date I had with Adalyn this weekend. I promised I would share more details about our matching Missy May Bags…

On our road trip to Whistler a few weeks ago, I happened to discover Missy May Bags on Instagram. It was a fantastic coincidence that it’s a Vancouver, BC brand and I was able to meet the online shop owner and designer, Amie, on our way through. I chose the James Mum & Me Vegan Leather Set as my 5 year old is always replicating my style (perks of momma hood!).

Any opportunity to coordinate, we’re all in – so it was especially fun on our date :)
A little backstory of why I love Missy May Bags…
The first Missy May Bag was constructed over twenty years ago in an after school sewing class on Vancouver Island with my dear cousin, Jenny May. Although Jenny May is no longer with us, every bag is made in her memory: fabulous, vibrant and full of life.
I truly believe anyone can be a #girlboss with the right squad behind them, for me it is my family and friends. #lifepartners.
Amie also has a ‘Bags That Give Back’ collection that will provide a donation to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Center in Vancouver, BC for every canvas tote that is purchased.
Missy May offers several designs in totes, backpacks, cross-body and yoga bags. Check them out HERE!
…
And so our date continued…
I’m going to be honest, the rest of the pics are of my little babe only (just know we are matching) – she was just so darling I had to capture it! You can see photos of us together in the previous post HERE. :)
Wandering + Lunch + a Giant Cookie from The Grateful Bread…we need more of this ♥
Our last stop of the day was an event at Rainglow Airbrush Tanning in Wedgwood (Seattle) hosted by two of my favorite Seattle style bloggers – Kirsty (www.luciakjewelry.blogspot) & Jennifer (www.jenniferlovin.com).
Rainglow is a gorgeous studio that offers airbrush tanning, lash extensions and a summer-ready boutique.
The event was showcasing the boutique-side of the shop, including the vintage-inspired Lucia K Jewelry.
I picked up this ‘Champagne Campaign’ muscle tee for $18!
And it’s always in the details…they even had a DIY bouquet station ♥♥♥…
Adalyn chose a set of 5 bracelets (one pictured below) for $15!
Kind of an amazing day, right? I hope you have the opportunity to take a few hours for yourself, with a girlfriend or with your little and just shop, eat and play. It will recharge those batteries, I promise :)
