Being from Seattle, it’s kind of a requirement to be a 12th Man…and in reality the season is more notably focused on Seahawks than pumpkin spice…seriously. We take the Legion of Boom in earnest, yet it’s not a no-nonsense mentality, it’s camaraderie, pride, and PARTIES! And I’ll be honest…that’s my favorite part. My husband manages the grill and I pour the mimosas. We don’t go over the top, but we have fun with friends and family…and that’s what it’s about.
For this post, I’m sharing our version of a kid-friendly party…basically adding a little whimsy to the day…and pink. As a mom of girls, we like pink.
We picked everything up from our local Fred Meyer, the shirts, decor, serving ware and sweet treats. I’m a one-stop-shop kinda gal…and I’m going to bet you are too. Don’t send me running around town, because I’m bound to forget something…and I have kids. I only shop at stores that I can literally get everything (i.e. Fred Meyer).
Okay so here’s what I recommend for making your next Seahawks party kid-friendly:
- Bring on the sweets! Feel free to skip the candy (though it looks cute and is definitely fun), and opt for juicy strawberries, red raspberries or pink lady apples – either way you can stick with a theme and the kids will love it.
- Add a pop of color! Blue and green may reign the stadium, but nothing’s wrong with adding a little blush hue here and there. I spotted pink Seahawks tees at Fred Meyer (they’re actually a few sizes too big, but I rolled up the sleeves and added a knot and we’re good to go! Plus they can wear them for a handful of seasons!).
- Decor!!! Kids love decorations. They rarely need a reason to celebrate and when you’re game to add a little festivity, I guarantee they’re going to dig it…and most likely join in the planning.
For this Seahawks party, we picked up outdoor hanging lights and a party sign which both fit in the budget and can be used for any celebration.
When it comes to kids it really doesn’t take much to impress. The important part is that you got into it and most of all, had fun. Stop by your local Fred Meyer for all things game day – they’ve got you covered for the season!
