What’s the definition of a Passion Project?
A passion project is something you work on (often outside of your chosen career path) that gives you satisfaction, happiness and puts you into a state of flow. It’s what you do to escape it all. Its your tiny (or huge) contribution to the world. – MindBodyGreen
In all reality, my grandest passion project thus far has been this blog. Prior to 2015, I was a stay at home mom with two young girls – I was happy, yes. But I needed something more. I needed my own space, my own platform, my own voice. I needed a creative outlet – something that could connect me with others, that would both challenge and inspire me. Without telling a soul, I launched Obsessed by Portia. It was scary, unfamiliar…yet that’s what made it exciting.
In the past year and half, my blog has grown way beyond what I could have imagined. It’s funny…when you truly love something, when your heart is engaged, positive energy just keeps flowing. And there is no end in site – the momentum is present and moving at lighting speed. With that said, I knew it was time to take it to the next level. Enter my NEW Passion Project…

First of all, let me tell you a bit about how I got here. The Passion Co. reached out to me to join their Find Your Passion Program that just made its debut in Seattle (you can also find them in San Francisco!).
About The Passion Co. + the Find Your Passion Program
We are the generation of the slash culture. We are no longer defined by our 9-to-5, as our parents may have been. We may call ourselves (or aspire to) a marketing professional/ floral designer, a lawyer/ jewelry maker, a construction manager/ leather goods creator. We are not one thing.
The Passion Co. is a community of individuals living this culture to its fullest. For the past 3 years, we have helped more than 5,000 people around the world connect with their passions, and launch passion projects. We have dedicated ourselves to creating the perfect program: The 5-Week Launch Your Passion Program.
The Find Your Passion Program provides a space to deeply explore who you are and what is meaningful to you in an interactive, community-based class. We give you tools and exercises to dig deep, then act. At week 2, you already start developing a Passion Project based on what you discover is truly valuable to you, not anyone else.
The Program culminates with a presentation or display of your Passion Project in front of family, friends and The Passion Co. community. – The Passion Co.
So when I first agreed to the 5 week program I had a passion project in mind…fast forward a few weeks to my first conversation with my passion partner. I realized during our hour-long intro chat, that I am way more inspired by a different passion project, one that is absolutely attainable (yet still a little scary!) and is a perfect compliment to Obsessed by Portia. Now I know it seemed like I was going to share what this NEW Passion Project will be…but you’ll just have to stay tuned. I promise you’ll know more over the next 30 days, as each week I meet with my Passion Program Community to co-work and build this exciting new venture. Do you have a Passion Project? Before you answer that…know that it can mean anything – learning to play the guitar, starting a new business or just working on daily mindfulness. We all have passions, we all have dreams, and we all have one life to live. Kind of makes sense to live it to the fullest, right? You never know until you try. The tricky part is narrowing down what path to follow and true action steps needed. Which is why the Passion Co. has succeeded for some many people – accountability, partnership and definitive timelines.
