“Oh it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.”
Created by Amy Poehler’s character, Leslie Knope, on Parks & Recreation in 2010, Galentine’s Day is quite possibly the best unofficial ‘official’ holiday on the calendar. It’s an excuse to gather your girlfriends, dress up, indulge in mimosas and mom stories and remind each other as to why you’re all amazing. The ultimate girl power brunch, if you will.

Galentine’s Day Ideas
In case you need a few ideas on exactly how and where to celebrate – I made a list to help organize your girl gang:
- Brunch
- Wine Tasting
- Photoshoot
- Slumber Party
- Bake-Off
- Movie Night
- Road Trip
- DIY Party
- Cooking Class
- Food Tour
- Dessert Fondue
- Spa Day

It’s really simply, send out a group text (or a Marco Polo!), put it on the calendar, figure out what you all love to do…and make it happen!

If you need decor for a Galentine’s Day party (or photoshoot!) we love Confete Party Box, a Seattle-based company that offers the most whimsical designs, including the gorgeous heart balloons featured in these photos.
