I’m not your typical ‘ballet flats’ girl that easily throws on cropped jeans, a white tee and cardigan and heads out the door. Nope, not at all. Don’t get me wrong, I would love a style mantra of effortless and carefree. It just isn’t my personality. I am very intentional, a tad on the obsessive side (hence my blog name), and prefer to torture myself with endless rifling through my closet to find the outfit I deem right for the day. (side note – if you see me dropping my Kindergartener off at school, this is me pre-gym, so no judgement).
Another reason I haven’t been a ballet flats aficionado, besides the easy-going style I lack, is that I’ve never found a comfortable pair. Most all of my friends are avid flats-wearing babes and always look fantastic, raving about the comfort, but I was never sold. I actually wore a pair of flats on my wedding day, though took them off right after the ceremony in lieu of flip-flops.
Then I had an opportunity to try Ballasox and my feet have been persuaded. I am now officially a ‘ballet flats’ girl.
Here’s why I’m obsessed:
- Ballasox have spandex floating liners that feel like socks (so no rubbing on the heels!)
- Elastic trim for smooth comfort and fit
- Flexible cushioned sole
The Petra Ballet Flat (pictured) would be a perfect New Year’s accessory, allowing your well-deserved feet a night off from the heels so they could dance until the ball dropped.
One dolled-up evening I paired the ballet flats with my Swarovski Crystal Earrings (which were a wedding gift from my husband). ♥
Another evening, I paired the flats with a string a pearls which were a gift from sister-in-law on her wedding day. I must be feeling a bit nostalgic lately. ♥
Ballasox also includes a matching tote which is perfect for storage or travel.
You can shop the full Ballasox collection, which is made in Brazil → HERE.
So obviously I’m a fan of dressing up my ballet flats…what’s your favorite way to style them?
