I had the fortune of marrying someone with a multi-generational legacy on Camano Island. Over 70 years ago, my husband’s great-grandfather built a home on the bay, which continues to be loved by someone in the family nearly every weekend, regardless of the season. We gather for holidays, birthdays, graduations…even last minute sunset dinners. We can always find a reason to visit ‘the beach.’
Camano Island, is by far, one of our happiest places on Earth. Which is why I must share it with you. But for this post, we’re dusting off the sandy toes and getting to know the art centric side to the island. Something that draws in visitors from all over the world, where an eclectic community of artists share their work inspired by the salty landscape.
You may recall my girls and I visited the Camano Island Studio Tour last year hosted by the Camano Arts Association. They just finished up this season’s tour, though there are still plenty of creative things to do and see on the island that showcase the ingenuity of the local makers.
Here’s a few ideas to help plan an art-inspired day trip to Camano Island!
