Yesterday we celebrated the 4th Birthday of one of our very best friends (Hi Hazel!). It’s pretty magnificent that my best friend and I met while pregnant with our second babies. This has created a magical little tribe of mom/daughter besties. Even though we see each other daily, we (as in all 4 of us) are giddy to chat first thing every single morning at school drop-off. You would think it’s been months since our last meeting…but nope, it’s realistically been like 10 hours. That is a true girlfriend. That is love. I literally think I would stop breathing without her. And I’m pretty sure my daughters feel the same way. We just need our friends. They are essential to our being. ♥
So, since we were celebrating one of our little favorites, I had high hopes of getting my girls (and myself) dolled up for the party. Well, then life happened (dishes, laundry, starving 3 year olds, etc.) and I had to get us out the door in minutes. At least they managed to put dresses on (never mind the soaking wet hair). Can’t win them all, am I right?
The party was adorable and we loved spending the day with our ladies…
…heaps of pink frosting later, I had to bribe my girl’s that it was finally time to head home. Fortunately the gift bag included makeup (aka lipgloss) so they were planning a little beauty party on the way home. And so that’s what we did…played a little dress-up on a Sunday afternoon. #DaughtersAreAwesome ♥
This was the perfect time to bust out our new bag of goodies from Scünci. Since Addy has those gorgeous golden locks, I am always looking for ways to ‘do’ her hair. I just recently taught myself how to french braid (yeah I’m late to the game, I know), and other than that I either leave her hair down or throw it in a bun. Her hair is so thick and silky (I know, rough problem to have, right?) most clips either can’t hold or slip out. But the Scünci No-Slip Small Octopus Clips actually stayed in and were adorable…case in point below. :)
Then, of course, a classic pony always works, especially with a neon tie…
Then this kid went GLAM. The Scünci hair and body tattoos take the cake…I mean look at this girl! (Is this what I look like, lol?)
You apply the hair tattoos just like you would any other temporary tattoo…and we’re going on day 2, still strong. Today I actually braided her hair so she got her boho-kindergarten vibe on (that’s a thing, right?). ♥
Scünci has come a long way since I was 5 years old…check out their website to see the collections they now offer and look for the Hollywood Roll tutorial, I’m kind of obsessed.
AND, Scünci has offered a giveaway to one lucky Obsessed by Portia reader! Enter to win this prize pack! (link below)
