8 Moving Hacks to Make Your Move Easier
Moving is a very exciting time, yet it can be tough to figure out how you are going to get all of your belongings packed and moved without breaking your back, your stemware, or the bank. Use this list of 8 moving hacks that movers houston give us to make your move simple as can be.
Make photocopies of important documents
Pack a separate briefcase or box with copies of your important papers in the event of an emergency If you need some packaging help, you might want to see this here and hire their contractors. While it may feel tedious to copy or scan every passport, social security card, birth certificate, and proof of insurance, you don’t want to risk losing or damaging the only copy of those papers in transit.
Set aside cleaning supplies
Make a cleaning kit so you can tidy up your house once more on moving day before you head out. You do not have to make a cleaning kit yourself per se, but get a mop kit off of unclutterer and clean the area. Use the same supplies when you arrive at your new home to wipe away all the grime before you carry in your belongings. Not only will you need your mop, broom, and dustpan, you’ll also need sponges, paper towels, old rags, and cleaning products.

Research professional moving companies
It’s never fun to spend your precious time doing research, but it is important to know that the company that’s moving you is reputable. A moving company can make or break the entire process of your move, so it’s important to make the right choice. Put some effort into finding a reputable moving company dublin that prioritizes customer service so moving day will bring much less of a hassle. If you’re looking for a moving company based in Seattle or the surrounding area, remember to get different quotes and speak with a few different companies so you feel confident you’re hiring a trustworthy moving company.

Keep Ziploc bags handy
It’s smart to keep a bunch of Ziploc bags in your backpack or purse for moving day. Baggies are great for all of those last-minute items that you don’t want to forget or lose, from tiny screws and brackets to luggage keys.
Use your luggage and storage bins
If you have any baskets, bins, or carry-on suitcases and you don’t know how to pack them all up, go ahead and use them. Store clothes or shoes in suitcases, and put hand towels and sheets in the lightweight bins and baskets with an open top.
Cover the tops of toiletry bottles
No one wants to arrive at their new home to find the shampoo spilled all over their clothes or other items. Take a few extra minutes to secure your bottles such as liquid soaps, shampoos and conditioners. Prevent leaking and spilling — and a lot of frustration — by either placing the items in a Ziploc bag or wrapping the top with Saran Wrap. It’s very easy, takes next to no time, and quite effective.

Pack an overnight bag
There’s a good chance you won’t make a dent in unpacking the first evening in your new home, so make sure you have an overnight bag for each member of the family. Pack items you’ll need the first few days there, such as a couple changes of clothes, pajamas, medications, chargers and any other items you will want. This will help ensure your first night is a lot more relaxed.
Use small boxes for heavy belongings
While it may sound obvious, make sure to use small boxes when packing heavy items. This tip cannot be overstressed – you don’t want to find yourself with a torn box and its content on the ground, or have to lug a too-heavy box full of yearbooks to the moving van. Small boxes are best for heavier items and large boxes are good for pillows, linens, and towels. If you are afraid for the integrity of your furniture, decorative items, valuables or other items, ADT Moving guarantees you peace of mind from packing your belongings to managing your insurance licenses.
