Bellevue – just 10 miles east of Seattle, and the fifth largest city in Washington state, remains one of my favorite places to escape for a little does of luxury. Fine dining, high-end shopping, boutique pastry shops and gorgeous gardens all contribute to Bellevue being one of the most romantic spots in the PNW.
A few week’s ago on our ‘Date Weekend,’ my husband and I explored the dreamy side of Bellevue, the city’s name stemming from the French term ‘Beautiful View.’ It was nothing short of romantic whimsy and the best way to celebrate this time in our lives – being married for 8 years, raising two beautiful daughters and appreciating the path that brought us here. Sometimes as parents we forget to honor this gift of partnership…and we need days (weekends!) like these.
Follow along as I share 7 romantic things to do in Bellevue…
Hyatt Regency Bellevue
Located in the heart of Bellevue, the Hyatt Regency is the best place to stay if you want to stay close to everything – and really maximize the time with your one and only.
And nothing kicks off a weekend for lovebirds like mimosas! The Hyatt Regency Bellevue offers a complimentary mimosa bar for guests every Friday afternoon – a little happy hour to get you in the relaxed spirit.
Once you check in, escape to your room and enjoy room service with a view of Lake Washington.
El Gaucho
The ultimate wine and dine spot – El Gaucho, is known as the ‘Northwest’s Steakhouse Legacy.’ Reserve a private dinner and be escorted to the best seat in the house with fresh rose covered linens. El Gaucho is nothing short of exquisite class paired with vintage glam. Dinner is beyond a meal, it’s an experience with table side preparation, conversations with the ‘Captain’ and traditions reminiscent of a bygone era.
Make time (and save room) for several courses of authentic Northwest cuisine paired with fresh produce from their local gardens. And you can’t go wrong with their cocktail or wine recommendations – they are expert mixologists.
After dinner you can enjoy a variety of nightlife options – or head back to the Hyatt Regency to soak in a little R & R in the Plush Hyatt Grand Bed™ or take a dip in the heated indoor pool.
Eques
Named one of the Best Brunch Restaurants in America by Open Table, Eques is definitely the best place to go if you’re smitten for breakfast! Located in Bellevue Place (adjacent to the Hyatt), Eques offers a buffet like no other. They have perfected the culinary sunrise.
Recoop Spa
Spoil your sweetie with some pampering at Recoop Spa, named one of the BEST Spas in America by The Zoe Report! Located across the street from the Hyatt Regency, they offer a range of luxurious services including facials, body treatments, nail care and an entire series just for men. In the spirit of the PNW I had the Hello Coffee scrub and wrap – one of their premier services (definitely recommend!).
Recoop offers a unique spa experience, especially with the modern rustic decor – think dream farmhouse. It’s clearly a Bellevue gem!
Bellevue Botanical Garden
Our first time visiting Bellevue Botanical Garden, 53 acres of lush gardens, restored woodlands and natural wetlands, we couldn’t help but feel the enchantment. And admission to this tucked away oasis is FREE – open from dawn to dusk to the public. It’s an incredibly beautiful place that is still being discovered even by locals. It’s everything you need for a romantic walk with your beau.
The Shops at The Bravern
The Shops at The Bravern offer the largest collection of luxury brands in the PNW. From valet parking to a personal concierge, you are treated like royalty the moment you enter the property. The Bravern is both intimate and grand, with a curated atmosphere evoking a sense of intoxicating opulence.
The premier department store, Neiman Marcus, delivers a designer destination – perfect for an afternoon of shopping.
For lunch, enjoy the contemporary cuisine at Mariposa, located on the third floor of Neiman Marcus. Must try → their famous homemade popovers with strawberry butter!
Café Trophy
Café Trophy, located on the main floor of The Bravern, is the perfect place to toast a weekend away together! A flirty little shop with the sweetest selection of cupcakes, pastries, champagne and craft coffee – you will be smitten!
Thank you Visit Bellevue for hosting a romantic weekend in the city!
Cheers to amorous adventures!
