Researchers estimate that 32 million Americans have food allergies, including 5.6 million children under age 18. That’s one in 13 children, or roughly two in every classroom…
And about 40 percent of children with food allergies are allergic to more than one food.Food Allergy Research & Education
With these incredibly high statistics it’s likely your child, or a close friend suffers from food allergies in one form or another. Which can make school and sports activities a struggle when it comes to snack time…unless we continue to educate and spread awareness.
I’ve mentioned before that my daughters do not suffer from allergies, however I do, which has allowed me to be hyper aware and considerate of their friend’s dietary restrictions.

My goal for this post is to encourage everyone to bring allergen-friendly snacks for school and sports activities…so everyone can enjoy them! I titled this post ‘7 Gluten Free Snacks for Kids’ because it has the likelihood of high visibility in my keyword research (blog SEO stuff), but really the snacks I’m sharing are FREE of 8+ allergens including :
- Dairy
- Eggs
- Peanuts
- Tree Nuts
- Wheat/Gluten
- Soy
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Sulphites
- Sesame
