Regardless of when or where you travel, I’m sure you have your mainstays…the items you always bring with you. Sometimes we overlook the everyday essentials, like skincare, and end up grabbing something in a pretty little bottle at Target, only to be disappointed once we actually use it on our trip. As a quick reference, I’m sharing 5 skincare products that will do wonders for your skin, before, during and after vacation. Especially for my sensitive friends, it’s so important to be hyper-aware of your beauty routine. A special mention to reneerouleau.com because all their products are gentle on skin which I truly love.

Cleanser
I know it’s tempting to use that mini facial bar in your hotel room, but I would highly recommend you bring along a quality cleanser like Paula’s Choice RESIST Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser. It gently removes makeup and impurities, without drying out your skin (unlike bar soap!). I would always use this as the first step in your AM/PM skincare routine.
Exfoliant
One of my favorite ways to prep for vacation is to use exfoliate, revealing fresh, smooth skin. Paula’s Choice SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant is a non-abrasive way to remove dead skin, refine and clarify pores and diminish the appearance of wrinkles, allowing an easier canvas for makeup. This is a a great product to use in the AM/PM after you cleanse and tone.
Facial Oil
Over the past year I’ve discovered my love for facial oils. They soothe my combination skin without leaving a greasy film. If I could pick ONE skincare product to take on a deserted island it would be a facial oil, no question. One of my favorites is Paula’s Choice RESIST Moisture Renewal Oil Booster, it’s rich in antioxidants with a blend of nine, non-fragrant plant-based essential oils. Depending on the nature of the climate and your skin type, you can use it alone or add to your moisturizer.
Moisturizer
I have two options for the last step in your PM skincare routine. The first is Paula’s Choice RESIST Barrier Repair Moisturizer with Retinol. It works wonders as an anti-aging tool by improving the appearance of wrinkles, nourishing dehydrated skin, and providing a firmer, more radiant complexion. I would recommend only using products with Retinol at night as they tend to make your skin sensitive to the sun. And start out slowly, just a few days a week to see how your skin acclimates.
If you’re like me and tend to be more on the sensitive side with areas of redness, you will love Paula’s Choice CALM Redness Relief Moisturizer. It’s an age-defying moisturizer that quenches thirsty skin, while also diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, providing a natural radiance. The nourishing plant oils combat redness, which happen to one of my largest skincare struggles. CALM works best as your last step before bed.
