With spring break just around the corner, it’s time to get those travel plans underway. My girlfriend’s and I just booked a trip to Arizona for a long weekend of sun, libations, and retail therapy! With that said, I have just a few short months to get…umm, how should I put this…bikini ready. We all know winter got the best of us with comfort food, comfort clothes and a few snow days from the gym. It’s time to get serious…and there’s no time like a vacation to spark a little motivation! So today I’m sharing 4 things I’m doing to prepare for spring break…
Setting a Legit Workout Routine
I have zero time to waste – therefore, I need to make every drop of sweat count – I need to push past my comfortable 3 mile run, my 30 minute TRX class, or my once or twice a week weights session. I need a consistent routine that holds its weight in gold on my calendar. My goal is to work-it-out hard 5 days/week. This is totally feasible, especially when I make it fun – like spinning at The Cycle Spot (see THIS post on why I’m obsessed).
Upping My Fit Fashion Game
I’ve said this a million times, but it’s true…if you love your workout gear – you are WAY more likely to workout! Something as simple as a new tank or leggings can do wonders for your confidence. Especially, if you’re starting a new class at the gym or going solo in the weight room – if you feel good about yourself, you will be less distracted with insecurities and actually focus on the workout (which in turn will give you that beautiful glow!).
Using a Fitness Tracker
I’m going to be honest…being a blogger has really cut into my activity level. Instead of an afternoon walk, I’m more likely to be checking emails, composing a new post…or worse, on Instagram. To combat this, I’ve realized the importance of fitness trackers. I need to be very aware of my steps and calories burned on a daily basis – especially on binge-blogging days (it’s a thing).
Thankfully, I was introduced to Misfit, a brand making major waves in the wearable technology world. I tested out the Misfit Ray, a fitness and sleep tracker that will knock your socks off! Here’s why:
- No charging. Misfit trackers work with a standard battery that lasts for 6 months.
- Automatically tracks steps, distance, calories and light restful sleep. In-App features allow you to tag specific activities, like cycling or yoga.
- Vibration alerts for call and text notifications, movement reminders and alarms.
- Bluetooth Smart wireless syncing.
- Swim proof (water resistant up to 50 meters).
- Available in multiple colors.
…and last but not least…
- It’s pretty! I have Rose Gold with a Gray Leather Band (love!) ♥

The 3 Day Refresh
One of the best ways to reboot my metabolism is the Shakeology 3 Day Refresh (*this is not sponsored)! It’s a light cleanse that will help kick any sugar, carb, or processed food cravings. It’s a great way to lose a couple pounds, get you moving in the right direction – and feeling light. You can check out my first experience HERE! I did a Refresh last month and have lost 7 pounds total since then. My girlfriend did the same and is down 9 pounds. I’ll be doing another soon for a little nudge further and to sharpen my diet.
