I’m a bit of a facial connoisseur…meaning I LOVE them and get them often. They’re not just a fancy way to spend your Sunday, they’re essential practices you should add to your monthly routine ASAP. But here’s the thing – NOT every facial is the same. You need to do your research, read reviews (like this one!), and make sure your facial includes 3 things I’ll list below.
Facials are so much more than an hour of indulgent pampering. They have enormous benefits to the health and wellness of your skin, both in the short and long term. When you consider all of the regular visits you make (dentist, hair salon, gym), you’ll realize you really should be focusing some of that time on your skin–even if it’s just when seasons change and your skin is at its most vulnerable. – Slice
I’m going to be honest, I’ve been getting facials for years, and didn’t expect anything new when I booked with Spa Nin9 (Bothell, WA). I mean I’ve never really had a bad experience – I’ve always walked away feeling clean and refreshed. But this facial was different. And I’m sharing my experience with you because Karissa, esthetician and spa owner, included 3 high-end services within the facial that are usually a la carte elsewhere. Meaning they cost a fortune to add on at any other spa. Enough anticipation already? Okay here’s 3 things every facial should include:
- Microdermabrasion – “Microdermabrasion treatments use a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand your skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks. Microdermabrasion can: Improve age spots and black heads.” (PlasticSurgery.Org)
- LED – Helps build collagen, elasticity, healing, anti-wrinkle
- High Frequency – “The high frequency facial is used by skin care professionals to help treat and prevent stubborn acne, shrink enlarged pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decongest puffy eyes, fade dark eye circles and even rejuvenate the condition of the scalp and nourish hair follicles for healthier hair growth.” (JellenProducts)
Spa Nin9 includes these services in both their Mini ($65) & Signature Facials ($95). And as I’ve mentioned before, this is rare, yet they provide the most fulfilling facial experience. My skin never looked so good and it’s been about a month (so I’m due to return!) and my skin has had very few blemishes (not my norm!).
I will add, I purchased the Elina Organics Skincare Oil Control Formula – Tame Your T-Zone – from Spa Nin9 – and I use it religiously. This has made a crazy impact on my skin – as I’m typically very sensitive with dry skin that gets oily as the day goes on (the worst!). And it’s kept my complexion clear and even. So if you’re not in the Seattle area and can’t stop by Spa Nin9 then contact them here – email@example.com. You can only purchase the product through select spas.
Okay, now I have to share a little bit about the location of Spa Nin9 – it’s part of a new beauty collection called Phenix Salon Suites which is a premier ’boutique salon suite concept’ that offers luxury suites for independent salon professionals. Located in Bothell (Canyon Park), you walk into what looks like a typical spa, but with several rooms for each business. It’s brilliant! A complete beauty one-stop-shop that offers specialized services. It takes small business to a whole new level by adding a sense of community.
So treat yo’ self this month to a facial and make sure it includes Microdermabrasion, LED and High Frequency! And for the local readers, Spa Nin9 is offering a Groupon for a $40 facial!!! But…if you just call them directly (425) 293-2639, and mention you saw this post you will receive the same offer without having to purchase the Groupon! This is a killer deal and will end soon – so book ASAP!
